Meet Mrs. Russitano

Hello! My name is Lori Russitano and I have been teaching second grade in Canastota Central Schools since 2004. Prior to my employment in Canastota, I spent 14 wonderful years teaching first and second grades at Stockbridge Valley Central School.

I am a proud alumnus of Canastota Schools and love our community. I attended SUNY Potsdam and graduated with a dual major in English Literature and Elementary Education. While studying at Potsdam, I spent four years playing on the college’s volleyball team and served as team captain my Junior and Senior years. I went on to complete my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Potsdam the following year.

My husband and I have two sons who also graduated from Canastota Schools. My son, Michael, graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and my son, Matthew, graduated from State University at Albany.

In my free time, I enjoy any activity that involves being outdoors. Swimming, golfing, hiking and gardening are some of my favorites. I also love spending time with my family and friends, reading, and watching football.

I look forward to a wonderful year together!
