Miss Giufre

Hello! My name is Courtney Giufre and I have the pleasure of teaching third grade with Mrs. Hollibaugh this year! Here is a little bit of information to get to know me better!

About Me: This is my sixth year teaching at South Side Elementary School! This is the same building that I attended second and third grade in and I am so happy to be back here! I live in Canastota with my dog, Jeter. My favorite sport is football and right now I am a UConn Huskies fan! I have two nephews and enjoy spending time with them as much as possible! I love to travel, read, and of course, shop!

My Education: I received my Bachelor's degree from the University of Rhode Island in Early Childhood Education. I decided to come back to New York and get my Master's degree from Le Moyne College in Childhood and Special Education.

About Our Classroom: We have decided to incorporate flexible seating to our classroom this year. Flexible seating gives students the option to choose different seating options throughout the day to better suit their needs. The choices we have so far are: yoga balls, wobbly stools, buckets, pillows, crate chairs, and a standing table. Students are expected to use these fun seating options respectfully and safely. This has been a great transition and we are excited to add more seating options as the year goes on!
